IPDP Description

The investment seeks to provide income; the secondary objective is capital appreciation. The fund’s investment strategy is twofold: (1) investing in dividend paying U.S. equity securities, and (2) credit spread options on an S&P 500 ETF or Index. It may also invest in equity real estate investment trusts (“REITs”). A credit spread is an options strategy that involves the purchase of one option and a sale of another option in the same class and with the same expiration but different strike prices.

SPHQ Description The PowerShares S&P 500® High Quality Portfolio (Fund) is based on the S&P 500® High Quality Rankings Index (Index). The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its total assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. The Index is designed to provide exposure to the constituents of the S&P 500 Index that are identified as stocks reflecting long-term growth and stability of a company's earnings and dividends. The Fund and the Index are rebalanced and reconstituted quarterly.
