As of December 31, 2012, its telephone network included 10,646 thousand fixed-lines in service, 76,137 thousand mobile accesses, 3,733 thousand broadband clients, and 600 thousand Pay TV clients. The company was formerly known as Telecomunicações de São Paulo S.A. – TELESP and changed its name to Telefônica Brasil S.A. in October 2011 in connection with the merger with Vivo Participações S.A.
