Its iodine and iodine derivatives are used in a range of medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and industrial applications, including X-ray contrast media, polarizing films for liquid crystal displays, antiseptics, biocides and disinfectants in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, herbicides, electronics, pigments, and dye components. The company's lithium and its derivatives include lithium carbonate for use in various applications comprising electrochemical materials for batteries, frits for the ceramic and enamel industries, heat-resistant glass, air conditioning chemicals, continuous casting powder for steel extrusion, primary aluminum smelting process, pharmaceuticals, and lithium derivatives; and lithium hydroxide, which is used as a raw material in the lubricating grease industry, as well as in cathodes for batteries. Its potassium chloride is used as a commodity fertilizer; and potassium sulfate is used as a specialty fertilizer. The company's industrial chemicals comprise sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, boric acid, solar salts, and potassium chloride. It also sells other fertilizers and blends.
