As of June 26, 2013, it had 1,690 franchised, licensed, and company restaurants, including 1,592 restaurants in the United States; and 98 restaurants in Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras, Guam, Curaçao, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and New Zealand. The company was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
