Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. It involves inserting a catheter into a blood vessel in the arm or leg and guiding it to the narrowed or blocked coronary artery. A balloon is then inflated to widen the artery and a stent is inserted to keep it open. PCI can improve blood flow to the heart and reduce the risk of a heart attack.
