The First Trust Nasdaq Semiconductor ETF is an exchange-traded fund. The investment objective of the Fund is to seek investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield, before the Fund's fees and expenses, of an index called the Nasdaq US Smart Semiconductor Index. The Fund seeks to replicate the holdings and weightings of the Nasdaq US Smart Semiconductor Index so as to generate performance results 95% correlated to that of the Nasdaq US Smart Semiconductor Index.

The investment seeks to replicate as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the daily performance of the Russell Top 50® Mega Cap Index Total Return. The fund invests at least 90% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in the equity securities included in the underlying index. The underlying index is an unmanaged equal-weighted version comprised of the 50 largest companies in the Russell 3000® Index, which is an unmanaged capitalization-weighted index that offers investors access to the broad U.S. equity universe representing approximately 98% of the U.S. equity market.
