First Trust/Aberdeen Global Opportunity Income Fund is a closed ended fixed income mutual fund launched and managed by First Trust Advisors L.P. It is co managed by Aberdeen Asset Management Inc. The fund invests in the fixed income markets across the globe. It primarily invests in investment grade and below-investment grade government and corporate debt securities. The fund benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the Barclays Capital Global Emerging Markets Index, Barclays Capital Global Aggregate Index and a blended index comprising of 40% of the Citigroup World Government Bond Index, 30% of the JPMorgan Emerging Markets Bond Index – Global Diversified and 30% of the JPMorgan Global Bond Index - Emerging Markets Diversified. It invests in fixed income securities with average credit quality rating of BBB- or higher.
