The investment seeks daily results that match (before fees and expenses) two times the inverse (-2x) of the daily performance of the Bloomberg Natural Gas SubindexSM. The manager intends to meet its investment objective by taking long or short positions in natural gas futures contracts. The Natural Gas Funds may also invest in swaps if the market for a specific futures contract experiences emergencies (e.g., natural disaster, terrorist attack or an act of God) or disruptions that prevent the Natural Gas Fund from obtaining the appropriate amount of investment exposure to the affected natural gas futures contracts directly or other futures contracts.
