Treatment of malaria depends on the severity of the disease and the type of parasite causing the infection. In most cases, malaria is treated with antimalarial medications, such as chloroquine, quinine, mefloquine, and artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs). In severe cases, supportive care may be needed, such as oxygen, intravenous fluids, and medications to reduce fever and other symptoms.
