- Bone Cement
Bone cement is a medical device used to fill bone defects or to anchor prostheses to bone. It is a type of acrylic cement composed of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) beads suspended in a liquid monomer. When the monomer is polymerized, the cement hardens and forms a strong bond with the bone. Bone cement is used in orthopedic surgery, particularly in joint replacement procedures.
