Embolic Protection Device

An Embolic Protection Device (EPD) is a medical device used to capture and remove debris from the bloodstream during certain medical procedures. It is typically used during endovascular procedures, such as angioplasty and stenting, to prevent embolization, or the movement of debris from the site of the procedure to other parts of the body. The device is inserted into the artery and captures any debris that may be released during the procedure.
