The United States Bankruptcy Court is a federal court system that handles bankruptcy cases. It is part of the federal judicial system and is responsible for administering bankruptcy proceedings. The Bankruptcy Court is responsible for determining whether a debtor is eligible for bankruptcy protection, and if so, how much of the debtor's debts can be discharged. The Bankruptcy Court also oversees the repayment of creditors and the distribution of assets to creditors.
