Nuveen was founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1898 and was previously named The John Nuveen Co., after founder John Nuveen. Nuveen's products include separately managed accounts, retail mutual funds, exchange traded funds and closed-end funds, investing in fixed income, alternative investments such as private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and other real assets, and global equities. Nuveen has $970 billion in assets under management with holdings in more than 50 countries.
