Ventricular tachycardia (VT) is a type of abnormal heart rhythm that originates in the lower chambers of the heart (the ventricles). It is characterized by a rapid heart rate of more than 100 beats per minute. VT can cause symptoms such as dizziness, chest pain, and shortness of breath. It can also lead to more serious complications such as cardiac arrest and sudden cardiac death. Treatment for VT may include medications, electrical cardioversion, or an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD).
