Rna Interference

RNA interference (RNAi) is a biological process in which RNA molecules inhibit gene expression or translation, by neutralizing targeted mRNA molecules. RNAi is a natural process in which small interfering RNA (siRNA), microRNA (miRNA), or short hairpin RNA (shRNA) molecules bind to specific mRNA molecules and either degrade them or inhibit their translation into proteins. RNAi is used in research, biotechnology, and medicine to silence the expression of specific genes.
