The York Water Company Description

The York Water Company engages in impounding, purifying, and distributing drinking water. It also operates a wastewater collection and treatment system; and has 2 reservoirs comprising Lake Williams and Lake Redman, which together hold up to approximately 2.2 billion gallons of water. In addition, the company has a 15-mile pipeline from the Susquehanna River to Lake Redman, which provides access to an additional supply of 12.0 million gallons of untreated water per day; and owns 2 wells providing approximately 100,000 gallons per day to supply water to its customers in Carroll Valley, Adams County. As of December 31, 2012, it served 63,273 customers in 39 municipalities within York County and 8 municipalities within Adams County in Pennsylvania. The company serves various customers in fixtures and furniture, electrical machinery, food products, paper, ordnance units, textile products, air conditioning systems, laundry detergent, barbells, and motorcycles industries. The York Water Company was founded in 1816 and is based in York, Pennsylvania.
