Telecom Argentina SA Description

Telecom Argentina S.A., together with its subsidiaries, provides telecommunication services to residential customers, businesses, and governmental agencies in Argentina and internationally. It operates in three segments: Fixed Telecommunications Services, Personal Mobile Telecommunications Services, and NĂșcleo Mobile Telecommunications Services. The company provides basic telephone services, including local, domestic and international long-distance, and public telephone services; interconnection services, primarily access, termination, and long-distance transport of calls; and data transmission and Internet services, such as traditional broadband and mobile Internet, Internet dedicated lines, private networks, national and international video streaming, transportation of radio and TV signals, and videoconferencing services. It also offers ICT services, datacenter services, telecommunications consulting, and value-added solutions; supplementary services comprising call waiting, call forwarding, conference calls, caller ID, voice mail, itemized billing, and maintenance services; and engages in the sale of equipment. In addition, the company provides mobile services through cellular and PCS networks. Its mobile service offerings include voice communications, GSM and 3G mobile communications over UMTS / HSPA / HSPA+ networks, high-speed mobile Internet, content and applications download, multimedia messaging, online streaming, corporate e-mail, social network access, and cloud backup services; and sale of mobile communication devices, such as handsets, 3G modems, and tablets. As of December 31, 2012, it had approximately 4.1 million fixed lines in service in the northern region of Argentina and 1.6 million Internet accesses; and approximately 19.0 million mobile subscribers in Argentina and 2.3 million mobile subscribers in Paraguay. The company was founded in 1990 and is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Telecom Argentina S.A. is a subsidiary of Nortel Inversora S.A.
