Its radio stations employ various programming formats, including classic hits, adult contemporary, classic rock, news/talk, and country. The company also develops local programming, including a local news franchise in each of its television markets. As of February 28, 2013, it owned and/or operated 4 television stations and 4 LPTV stations serving 2 markets, 5 radio information networks, and 61 FM and 30 AM radio stations in 23 markets, including Bellingham, Washington; Columbus, Ohio; Norfolk, Virginia; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Manchester, New Hampshire; Des Moines, Iowa; and Joplin, Missouri. Saga Communications, Inc. was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.
