The Marcus Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, engages in lodging and entertainment businesses in the United States. It operates through two segments, Movie Theatres, and Hotels and Resorts. As of May 30, 2013, the company operated 55 movie theatres with 685 screens throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Ohio, including 2 movie theatres with 11 screens in Wisconsin and Nebraska owned by third parties and managed by the company; and a family entertainment center, Funset Boulevard, located in Appleton, Wisconsin. As of the above date, it owned and operated 9 hotels and resorts in Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma; and managed 11 hotels, resorts, and other properties for third parties in Wisconsin, California, Georgia, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, and Texas. The company owns and manages approximately 5,400 hotel and resort rooms. It also provides hospitality management services, including check-in, housekeeping, and maintenance for a vacation ownership development, which comprises 68 two-room timeshare units and a timeshare sales center. The Marcus Corporation was founded in 1935 and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
