Lakeland Industries, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells safety garments and accessories for the industrial protective clothing market worldwide. It provides limited use/disposable protective clothing, such as coveralls, lab coats, shirts, pants, hoods, aprons, sleeves, and smocks; high-end chemical protective suits to provide protection from highly concentrated and hazardous chemical and biological toxins; and fire fighting and heat protective apparel, which is used for the maintenance of high temperature equipment, and for military and airport crash and rescue teams. The company also offers reusable woven garments that include electrostatic dissipative apparel used in the pharmaceutical and automotive industries, clean room apparel to prevent human contamination in the manufacturing processes, and flame resistant and fire resistant cotton coveralls used in chemical and petroleum plants and for wild land firefighting, as well as extrication suits for police and ambulance workers; high visibility clothing, such as flame retardant and reflective garments for the fire industry and utilities, and high visibility reflective outer wear for industrial uniforms and state departments of transportation; and gloves and sleeves that are used in the automotive, glass, metal fabrication, and food service industries. It sells its products through customer service groups, regional sales managers, and independent sales representatives to a network of safety and mill supply distributors. The company's products are used by industrial customers, such as integrated oil, chemical/petrochemical, utilities, munition plants, automobile, steel, glass, construction, smelting, janitorial, pharmaceutical, mortuaries, and high technology electronics manufacturers, as well as scientific and medical laboratories, and federal, state, and local governmental agencies and departments. Lakeland Industries, Inc. was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Ronkonkoma, New York.
