Hawthorn Bancshares, Inc. operates as a bank holding company for Hawthorn Bank that provides commercial and personal banking services in Missouri. The company offers certificates of deposit, individual retirement and other time deposit accounts, checking and other demand deposit accounts, interest checking accounts, savings accounts, and money market accounts; and a range of lending services, including commercial and industrial loans, single payment personal loans, installment loans, commercial and residential real estate loans, and other consumer loans, as well as credit card accounts. It also provides Internet banking, debit cards, trust services, brokerage services, and safety deposit boxes, as well as automatic teller machines and credit related insurance. As of June 13, 2013, Hawthorn Bancshares, Inc. offered its products and services through its head office in Jefferson City, as well as through additional locations in Lee's Summit, Springfield, Branson, Independence, Liberty, Raymore, Columbia, Clinton, Windsor, Collins, Osceola, Warsaw, Belton, Drexel, Harrisonville, California, and St. Robert, Missouri. The company was founded in 1865 and is headquartered Jefferson City, Missouri.
