Federal Signal Corporation designs, manufactures, and sells a suite of products and integrated solutions for municipal, governmental, industrial, and commercial customers primarily in the United States, Europe, and Canada. It operates through three segments: Safety and Security Systems, Fire Rescue, and Environmental Solutions. The Safety and Security Systems segment manufactures and supplies systems and products that law enforcement, fire rescue, emergency medical services, campuses, military facilities, and industrial sites use to protect people and property. It offers systems for campus and community alerting, emergency vehicles, first responder interoperable communications, industrial communications, and command and municipal networked security; and specific products comprising vehicle lightbars and sirens, public warning sirens, and public safety software. This segment sells its products primarily under Federal Signal, Federal Signal VAMA, Target Tech, and Victor brands. The Fire Rescue segment manufactures articulated and telescopic aerial platforms for fire fighting, rescue, electric utility, and industrial uses. It also sells parts; and provides service and training. This segment sells its products under the Bronto Skylift brand to municipal and industrial fire services, civil defense authorities, rental companies, electric utilities, and industrial customers. The Environmental Solutions segment manufactures various self-propelled street cleaning vehicles, vacuum loader vehicles, municipal catch basin/sewer cleaning vacuum trucks, and waterblasting equipment. It is also involved in the sale of parts and tooling; rental of equipment; and provision of service, repair, and training. This segment sells its products under Elgin, Vactor, Guzzler, and Jetstream brands primarily to municipal and government customers, and industrial contractors. Federal Signal Corporation was founded in 1901 and is headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois.
