Clean Energy Fuels Corp., together with its subsidiaries, sells natural gas as an alternative fuel for vehicle fleets. It designs, builds, operates, and maintains fueling stations. The company supplies compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles; and liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel for medium and heavy-duty vehicles. It also sells non-lubricated natural gas compressors and related equipment used in CNG stations and LNG stations; and produces renewable natural gas, which is used as vehicle fuel or for renewable power generation. In addition, the company helps its customers acquire and finance natural gas vehicles, as well as obtain local, state, and federal grants. It serves various markets, including trucking, airports, taxis, refuse, and public transit. As of December 31, 2012, the company served approximately 650 fleet customers operating approximately 30,600 natural gas vehicles, as well as owned, operated, or supplied 348 natural gas fueling stations in 32 states in the United States; British Columbia and Ontario within Canada; and Peru. The company was incorporated in 2001 and is headquartered in Seal Beach, California.
