Its loan portfolio includes one-to four-family residential real estate loans; construction-to-permanent loans primarily secured by one-to four-family residential real estate; consumer loans comprising home equity loans and lines of credit, home improvement loans, auto loans, and loans secured by savings deposits; and multi-family and commercial real estate loans primarily secured by multi-family dwellings and small commercial buildings. The company also offers telephone and Internet banking services; and serves as a reinsurance company. As of October 31, 2012, it operated 46 branch locations in Kansas and Missouri. The company was founded in 1893 and is headquartered in Topeka, Kansas.
